Tube tying remorse...

Title says it all. My youngest is 4 months and I'm already dreaming of another child. But pre-delivery I was in a not-so-good relationship and wanting to make it work I let myself get talked into getting my tubes tied instead of him getting snipped. Now post-delivery + 4 months I am single and regretting my surgery (wish I could reverse it). I know I can still get pregnant but it won't be the old fashioned way.

I loved being pregnant. No complications in all 3 of my deliveries, "text book" perfect according to my OB. First was a 12 hour labor (from time water broke to delivery, with epi), second was 6 hrs (from time water broke, all natural and active labor was only 1.5 hours) and 3rd was 2 hours (didn't know I was in labor when I went in to be induced, they broke my water and 2 hours later the largest of all my kids was born. Labor felt like bad menstrual cramps and 2 pushes she was out.). Gained 30 with the first 2 (both boys) and 20 with my youngest (girl).

Ok done venting...but I would really like to know (from moms with some experience) how much $$$ is IVF?(avg cost?)

Re: Tube tying remorse...

Are you sure you're unable to have your tubes "un-tied"? I have a friend who's going through with that option at the moment...

Yes, I had called my OB just the other day and asked. He said with this "new" way of tying he is unable to reverse it.

Re: Tube tying remorse...

I don't know about outside the military or more current info but my neighbor 6 years ago was trying to have it done. It was covered but they were making her pay a $3500 co-pay so I assume it's at least that much.

Edit: According to this clinic, it costs $10,000- $12,000 per cycle, if your insurance won't cover it, not including somehting he called "add-ons".
