You could also try doing the belly lift. If you interlace your fingers under your belly and gently lift it will position the baby be more vertical thus will put pressure on your cervix and can start contractions.

Aww, thanks!!! I love it too! I wear it often and proudly. I got it at..Cafe Press.com Order large. They run small. I am a pretty small person (5 7 and 125 lbs) but a little chesty due to bfing and I ordered a Large and it fits perfectly.

As long as you're at home the risk of infection is VERY small anyways. Good luck mama, I hope labor starts for you!

Any updates mama? I agree with others that as long as nothing is being put in your vagina (which means no cervical checks, no sex, no internal fetal monitoring) and you are monitoring your temperature to watch for infection you're fine. Your bag of waters can also reseal and replenish itself.

But I'd love to hear more about how your midwife handled the situation since I'm in the Toronto area too and may have something like this happen.

Just a quick update. I will write my birth story later. My beautiful as yet unnamed boy was born by VBAC in hospital 63 hours after my water broke. The last 12 were labour. My midwives were amazing and baby is home with myself and my husband. We're all doing great.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did end up going to the hospital the afternoon after the original post. I'm so happy he's here and that I did the VBAC.
