Re: Cravings!.. EWWW!

I've had the same, only during pregnancies, I pick up local organic buffalo. When not prego, no red meat at all. I only LIKE it when prego, so I figure my body must be telling me something!

Re: Cravings!.. EWWW!

I picked up a good whole food Iron supplement today.

My diet has a lot of restrictions. nightshades for example send my back and neck muscles into spasms. I use to live at the chiro getting adjustments when now.. I avoid tomatoes, potatoes eggplant yams... Etc... and I feel better then I have... ever!

Mushrooms are a no no, coconut and almond anything are as well. I can have Mozzarella cheese so I'm going to look into getting some cheese sticks. Soy is also very beneficial for me.

Pinto beans have been helping so home made burritos have been a hit. We don't have any grocery money and won't till the 5th so I'm trying to work around what we have at home. Black beans, peanut butter, broccoli, ohh and we have some canned beets in our food storage! That sounds delish!

The Iron I picked up is Floradix. We will see how that helps. Thank you so much for all of your suggestions.

I'm with the PP that have suggested iron deficiency. I usually got HUGE steak cravings right after AF showed. Molasses has a bunch... you can put a tablespoon or two in hot water and it's a yummy-ish coffee substitute.

I didn't read back to see if anyone else suggested it but if you can tolerate them, almonds are great for iron and protein too.

Re: Cravings!.. EWWW!

I would bet it is Iron -eat raisins, prunes, beans..... and be sure to have your iron levels checked because being deficient makes for a hard pregnancy. Good luck
