Any transverse/breech babies out there??

I'm starting to get a bit concerned.
This little boy has been transverse since 17 weeks and hasn't moved one bit since (I'm 27 weeks today). This is baby number 3 and both the other 2 were head down all along so I never had this concern.

When does babys position become a problem, and what will your doctor/midwife do about it?

No midwife (which I have) or OB will deliver a breech baby, now will they attempt to move the baby prior to birth. If I chose that option I would have to see a specialist in a larger city.

Please tell me I'm not the only one!

Re: Any transverse/breech babies out there??

Mine is still moving around quite a bit, I think the farther in to the 30s the harder it is for them to move. At 26 weeks baby is only 2lbs, so they have PLENTY of room to move about and reposition. The bigger they get the harder it is. I wouldn't worry yet

Re: Any transverse/breech babies out there??

My LO goes back and forth between transverse and breech constantly, I don't think I've felt a kick towards the top of my stomach. Everything I feel is either around my hip or lower abdomen, but I'm not really worried yet bc there's still a lot of time and baby can go head down so late in the game.

You could always start doing those yoga/back stretches that are supposed to encourage flipping, but I guess if baby really liked it's position then it wouldn't matter or they'd just flip back

I agree I wouldn't worry yet. We still have plenty of time and they are still moving around quite a bit at this stage. I too feel him mostly down low but mostly on my sides near my hips so I know he is usually transverse.

My birth center sends the moms with breech babies to the chiropractor. I don't know what they do to get them to flip, but from what I have heard it usually works.

LO is back and forth between breech and transverse. You still have a ton of time for baby to settle into a good position. I'd start doing some of the exercises etc. to encourage good positioning though. I can't hurt. But I wouldn't worry too much. If it were me I'd start seeing a chiro around 30-32 weeks to help you along if he/she still hasn't moved.

FTR - both my DDs were breech until 34 and 35 weeks. They moved on their own.

Re: Any transverse/breech babies out there??

We are still really early to be worried about breech or transverse. 32+ weeks is when it gets a little more concerning because, as the pp's said, baby is big and cant completely flip. Right now they are all over the place and in every position they can manage. When things get crowded is when they settle into a position. My last ultrasound (22ish weeks) baby was breech, transverse, and head down across the hour and flipped without any effort.

Ours is transverse right now. With my previous pregnancies I could feel the babies flipping constantly. With this one it just seems like it's moving around in the same place. Kinda weird that it would be different.
I'm not too worried yet. I know there are lots of things to try before getting worried...

Oh yeah no reason to worry yet!! All my kiddos were breech and transverse, until way after 30 weeks. My last did keep going from head down to transverse all the way up to 40 weeks.
