Crafting for Baby

Okay, I know we have a diaper sewing thread already here in June, but I didn't want to post my other pictures in that thread since they're not diaper related.

So anyone feel free to share pictures of what they're crafting for their little one. Can be anything, sewing, crocheting, knitting, whatever! I love talking about crafts, so maybe you guys do too!

This isn't finished, but I picked out the fabrics for a block quilt for our little girl.

I'm so excited about pink! I really thought we'd be having a boy.

I bought the umbrella print before we knew what we were having but then once I found out we were having a girl I knew it'd be perfect for her quilt. I tend not to like a lot of the "baby" prints, so this is perfect!

The quilt will be squares of each of the fabrics, there's 3 cotton prints (the umbrella, green zig zag, and a yellow rose print), grey minky dot, dark pink chenille, and then I'm going to do the backing in a solid white minky.

I showed the fabric to my husband and he's like "I just can't envision it.." Ugh, men!

I got it off of Etsy, the print is Riley Blake's Rainy Days. There's a pink and a green version as well

So pretty!! Can't wait to see it finished. I'd like to do a quilt for this little guy but I still have to finish my daughter's twin...which I barely have started, lol. I know I'll be crocheting some hats and booties but probably won't need them right away. It'll be fun to see what everyone is doing!

My next project will the a faux chenille baby blanket, just waiting to find out what colors to buy!

lol! I know how it goes, I'm only doing squares of fabric because I know if I get any more technical than that I will get sick of it and hate making it! I'm an impatient sewer, so I can understand not finishing something!

I'd love to see anything you crochet up, I love baby hats, I have a bit of an addiction starting to them, although I don't know how to crochet or knit, so so far I'm getting them off of Etsy. I wish I knew how to crochet!

That sounds nice! I was like you a few weeks ago, waiting to find out what colors to buy, now it's so fun since I know! I hope others share pictures too!

So I finally made my first things for our baby girl, I started off easy since I haven't done a lot of baby items before. So I made two hats. The knottie hat was my first and I think I'll have to make a different one, the dimensions are off, I think it's too wide and too short. But I made both patterns myself, so I think they turned out good regardless!



I'm hoping to perhaps get a diaper made up this week, I'm a bit nervous that they won't turn out, but I'm hopeful!

Okay, you all can tell me to shut up if you're sick of seeing my photos! I joke that my crafting is my nesting, I can't stop, I'm having too much fun!

Hopefully I'm not the only one crafting, because then I will annoy you all! But I'd still love to see other's photos of baby things they're making.

Here's something I made today. These are actually going to a friend, but I'm going to make the exact same set for our little girl.

I made the elephant applique and then sewed it on, the ear is red minky. Then I made up the matching bear hat. I love anything with ears on it for a baby!
