Naming themes...

Do any of you name by themes or letters? I'm just curious

We don't, but in my family, we have a couple "themes"

My moms parents: June & Julian --> Julie (my mom), Jamie, & Jerry
Jerry had: Julayne, Joslyn, & Joshua

One of my uncles (who is a lawyer) had: Honor, Justis, Liberty, & Hero

Re: Naming themes...

My mom kinda pushed me to find another 'A' name when I was pg with Harley. Then we would have been Aaron (DH), Amanda (me), Aedan (ds1), and 'A' baby (ds2). Instead we named him Harley and now we have AAAH! lol I think it's fitting since that's how I feel sometimes!

Re: Naming themes...

We don't have a theme but when I was growing up I always felt left out becaue my dad is Kevin, my mom is Kathryn and my brother is Kenneth and I am Melinda. Then my mom pointed out that my name, my brothers and hers are all 7 letters. What we do is name out children with two middle names and the 2nd middle name is always after a great grandparent.

Re: Naming themes...

Well, I hadn't planned it, but DS's name is four letters and one syllable and my two other favorite names are four letters and once syllable.

Also, "Bram" (DS) and "Rook" (will be my next child's name) both mean "raven". Bram's middle name is Faolan, which means "wolf" which of course is another animal. I also really like Rune though, and that just means "puzzle". So I guess if I ever name a child Rune, I'll have to come up with an animal middle name.

Re: Naming themes...

We went with a Scandinavian theme. DH is 3/4 Norwegian and I have a little in my family history as well.

BTW, in Norway, Rune is pronounced roo-nuh, because final e's have a sound, they aren't silent. I don't know what it means in Norwegian, but I like how it sounds.

Well, DD's name is Grace and my mom and grandma are HUGE Elvis fans - anyone want to guess what our last name is?

Michael's name is my DH's middle name (and DH's name is his dad's middle name) ........ and Michael's middle name is my late grandfather's first name as a tribute

Both of my kids' names mean "tree" in different languages. If I have any more they'll be named after trees too. I'm growing a forest!

Ours is pretty obvious. I'm leaning toward Jeremiah for this one, if it's another boy.

Re: Naming themes...

My name is Jennifer and Dh is Jason and we named DS James but not because of the J. Unfortunately our favorite name right now is Justin for a boy. If it's a girl then I don't have any J names picked out just L, R and H. People asked us if we did it on purpose but we didn't, we just liked the name.
