DIY wool soakers - Katrina's soaker...anybody else NOT have the love?

I made this soaker out of recycled, felted sweaters. It looked cute, was pretty easy but didn't have enough booty room IMO for my fitteds and was too big at the waist - gonna add a smidge of elastic. Anybody wanna share their fave DIY wool soaker pattern? I'm thinking about trying the Chloe Toes cover pattern with a double layer of wool.
Spam me with pics and ideas please!

Do you think the wool was stretchy enough? Maybe you can tighten the waist by using a shorter piece, and then increasing the rise some. Do you think that would do it?

That is exactly what I should do for my next one. I think using the ribbed part of the sweater and cutting it a bit small might be good? I'm new to pattern making and I think I need to just cut a new one. Just got some more cute sweaters today! Thanks mama.

So feeling dumb because she has a link for how to adjust the rise on her site. Think I need to chalk this one up to being new at this. Insert foot in mouth.

I always have to adjust the rise on the Katrina pattern and I make sure that the extra fabric from the body of the soaker ends up in the back to give more room for the booty. Plus I think that there is a slight difference in her pattern for fleece and her pattern for wool.

I just re-cut the pattern with a larger rise w/o messing with the leg holes. Making some new ones tomorrow. We'll see

Yes, you have to adjust it some. You also need to make sure you are cutting your fabric the right way- the stretch needs to go side to side not up and down. Also- I love the Mile High Monkeys pattern.

Re: DIY wool soakers - Katrina's soaker...anybody else NOT have the love?

i really liked katrinas for my petite, flat-wearing dd, but ds is a little more robust, and i couldn't make it work for him. i found this tho, and i'm loving it! it's written for pul, but i've seen it done in fleece and wool. u could probly use strips of hook and loop for closure if u don't have access to snap press/pliers( or pp/trade w/ a snappy wahm) this is the only cover i have been completely happy with for my built-like-a-battleship ds. absolutely no red marks, and still passes the poopsplosion tests!

Thanks mamas! I made a felted one today and it came out really cute. Getting the hang of it I think. Thanks for the link. I get kinda intimidated by buying patterns that I haven't seen in action. I have a snap press and was going to try the celtic diaper or the chloe toes since they are free but I like the way that one looks!!
