What are your diaper bags like?

I'm used to carrying around a small bag with just a few sposies. But now that I'm CD'ing, I seem to need more space...particularly since we've had a few leaks with the prefolds and I have to take a change of clothes. What types of bags to you have and what do you take with you?

Re: What are your diaper bags like?

Right now I'm embarassed to admit that i'm carrying around one of those free diaper bags that the formula company hands out at the hospital. We had a homebirth, but my diaper bag's strap broke and my sis had this one sitting around unused, so I got it.

With cd'ing I definitely need a larger bag than I did with 'sposies. I always carry more diapers than I need just because I hate to find myself unprepared. Plus at least one outfit in case of a leak, plus I always have at least one baby carrier in my diaper bag. And of course at least one receiving blanket for spit ups. And a few toys for baby. And a few small other things.

I want to get a new cute bag but the budget doesn't allow for it right now. So for now, my freebie is functional and works well until I can afford something new.

We use a aimeeplus3designs bag it's WONDERFUL. I have one that's just a tiny big smaller than her large, there are 3 elasticized pockets, and two BIG flat pockets. I can fit 4 dipes, a spray bottle, wipes, diaper cream, small baby powder bottle, sippy cup, the changing pad that I bought to match the bag from her as well, wetbag

Re: What are your diaper bags like?

My roomiest bag is this Columbia diaper backpack from BRU/TRU. I also love the cold pack compartment on one side. the changing pad is awesome b/c it has a wipes holder (I use flushable wipes in my bag), so I dont need the extra wipe holder "thingy". I use that pad w/ all of my bags. right now I"m using my Kecci, which is good for basics. The backpack could definitely be used for carrying outfits around. I also keep extra clothes in my car and other stuff to reduce what I carry in my bag. I change him in the car alot, b/c he hates those fold down changing tables in the bathrooms.

Re: What are your diaper bags like?

I have a baby trend diaper bag which I used this winter jus b/c I didn't care if it got salty. As soon as spring comes (will it ever get warm again?) I have a silk messenger bag by Thyme Maternity. It is much roomier b/c it is not so stiff. Its a challenge to have enough space w/o being overly bulky.

Re: What are your diaper bags like?

we bought a little one at babies r us with snoopy... DH liked it so he bought it
problem is it is already coming apart where the straps connect to the bag.... typical!
It also really isn't big enough for the cloth diapers
I really need a better bag
one that is made well with sturdy stitching and material where the straps connect into the bag itself

Re: What are your diaper bags like?

We have an Eddie Bauer bag from BRU that has a "changing pad" attached to the side. Maybe if your baby is only a foot long-ever- it might be sufficient.
Anyhow, I keep it stuffed with the following:
1 cotton thermal receiving blanket
4-6 bG 1.0 OS
1 pair of pants
1 onesie shirt (LS)
12 fruit roll up things
8 cloth wipes (bamboo)
1 Playtex nurser bottle (sometimes, he doesn't want boobie)
4 bottle liners
2 extra nipples
Medela Deluxe Electric pump motor (it's pretty small)
Medela pump horn that separates into two pieces
2 3 oz Medela storage bottles
Medela pump/accessory wipes
changing pad
Purell bottle
fleece hat
socks
paci (not that he'll take one...)
two doses of his Prevacid
syringe for his meds
a bottle of water
my wallet
my cell phone
2 small toys
Infant Tylenol
Mylicon
extra burp rag (Gerber pf)
