Baby dropped, now what?
This is baby #4 for me so nothing new ( ; but none of my other kids dropped until labor. I am 36 weeks and last week this baby dropped completely into my pelvis. I have TONS of room under my rib cage. My midwife said just about the entire head is in there. Does this mean possibly early delivery or 4 weeks of pain? None of my other kids came early.

Re: Baby dropped, now what?
DS dropped at 34 weeks and sent me into early/prodromal labor, which lasted a month. I wouldn't wish that on anyone, but at the same time, the horrible-ness of that month was better than having a preemie, I suppose! Or that's what I tell myself at my own pity party.
But you are getting close! 36 weeks!! Getting exciting!!!

Re: Baby dropped, now what?
Personally, my kids dropped and then it was still weeks of waiting. So, I don't think it necessarily means early labor, just that your body and baby are gearing up for it.

Re: Baby dropped, now what?
Out of curiosity, I just went back and looked at my preggo pics. I was definitely dropped by about 34 weeks. My girl was born right on time, which was surprising for me because she is my first (so I was expecting to deliver in at least week 42!!). I don't think dropping means that you are near labor; I think it just means that baby is positioning itself to be ready, but it's still baking. Which means..... you get to waddle for several more weeks! HAVE FUN!

Re: Baby dropped, now what?
This one seemed like it dropped a few weeks ago, it was *really* deep in there and I had plenty of space under my ribs... it popped back out though, to put its head on my hip and give me terrible heartburn
