can I freeze it again?

I am guessing not, but figured it was worth a try....
MIL froze some cookie dough (the store bought kind) and gave it to us, but I wasn't home DH did put it in the freezer, but then he apparently decided he wanted some (or so I assume...) and put it in the fridge So I am assuming I am now stuck with cookie dough in the fridge until we use it or it goes bad? And how long will it last in the fridge?

I wouldn't put it back in the freezer as a general rule you never refreeze anything. I'm not sure how long it would last in the fridge, does it have a date on the label?

You could bake the cookies and freeze them. They should last about 3mths in the freezer.

I had some of the big tubs that say it's ok to refreeze. They were huge and I had to thaw to make cookies but didn't use it all.

If it's anything like the tub of dough I bought from the boy scouts, that stuff will last FOREVER! Regardless, I think it'd be fine to refreeze.

Re: can I freeze it again?

Generally, if food is defrosted under proper conditions, like in the refrigerator, it can be re-frozen - this even applies to meat (ONLY if thawed in the refrigerator, not on the counter, in the sink, in the microwave). You might experience a loss of texture and taste though, so I agree about making the cookies and freezing those!
