well its "easier" to put gals in "boy" diapers.. This one was a gift and one of my DD first CD gifted to me before we knew the gender!

I don't consider there to be "boy" patterns, to me really they are girly or unisex. And my son often gets put in pink or flowery or such if that is what is still in the drawers.

Re: So.. Boy's in "girl" diapers and Girls in " boy" diapers?
My sister, who refuses to CD, is adamant about her boy wearing blues and greens and her girl wearing pinks and purples. Her husband's the same way. They gave me one of their onesies for my DS because they thought it was too girlie-- it was plain white with a little frog on it! Not girlie at all!
I don't think it's really that important to make my baby fit into his gender schema, although I'm not about to put him in a dress, lol. Who really cares if the diaper is pink, especially if there's a cover over it anyway? |

My son can wear whatever color, diaper/ clothes. His blankets are.. you guessed it, Pink. Colors don't have gender's so its nice to see that other mama's agree. He also has pink and purple pacifiers. Not a big deal.

Re: So.. Boy's in "girl" diapers and Girls in " boy" diapers?
DS is my first CD'd baby, so we don't have any "girly" diapers. And that's mostly because I've noticed the resell value for super girly diapers is lower. I guess because you've eliminated half the buyers. If I'd had pinks or purples left over from an older child, he'd be wearing them. I do have one sbish fitted with lilac serging that is sort of girlish, but I don't care. With my older son, when he PL, he wanted pink Barbie panties, so I let him wear DDs for a while until he asked for something else.

Re: So.. Boy's in "girl" diapers and Girls in " boy" diapers?
My DD wears all of my DS's old diapers no matter the color. He did have a lavender diaper in there though. If we have another boy he will be wearing all of her diapers. This whole "boy" vs. "girl" stuff REALLY makes me angry. It's so ridiculous and arbitrery and I have seen people get so worked up over it. Like what's pink going to do? Make your son's penis fall off or something?! I had the nurse at the pediatrician look at me in shock because DS had a sticker book (with Peter the Rabbit) and she had wanted to get one for her DS but her husband said no because "stickers are for girls" *gag* I have a friend with a LO DS's age and she will not even let him have a pink balloon if that's what is available.

Around here we're big on all colors for all people
People who have been to the nursery at my house lately think we're having a girl because I have pink/purple diapers in there. I don't think a pink diaper or flowers make it less appropriate for a boy. Of course, I won't put a boy in a diaper that says "I'm a pretty princess" but otherwise it's all fair game.

I am just now having my first boy after almost 7yrs and 3 girls.
His stash is blues, greens and everything boyish. I too agree with the colors don't have genders but with that said, my son will not wear pink or purple......but that is just because I have waited so long for a little boy.
