Might be an odd question...

I have a lot of BH throughout the day this pregnancy and some of them are painful but I have I have noticed that when I eat ice (I am a major ice eater) they become more frequent and are always painful. Now, isn't it supposed to be the other way around? Like, aren't you supposed to drink water if you are having a lot of contractions and it's supposed to help them go away? I know that I'm not in labor because it happens to me everyday and he is still hanging in there but I am getting a little concerned about it because I thought it was supposed to have the opposite effect.

Usually the doctor's/nurses will give you ice to wake the baby up and make it move around more (to get the heart rate up). Maybe this is what is happening to you and that is what makes the BH more frequent/painful.

I'm no expert but it was the first thing that came to mind when reading your post.

That's what I thought, too. I've noticed that with really cold water, too.

Re: Might be an odd question...

maybe try drinking lots of water when you have them, instead of eating ice. That should help
