Re: Amber teething necklace

Does anyone have problems with your baby chewing on the necklace while wearing? It's a little long on my DS and he keeps chewing so I take it off and can't use it. Will it hurt him? Telling him no doesn't seem to do any good.

DS's isn't long enough for him to chew on it while wearing it, but if he gets ahold of it otherwise, he'll try chewing it to bits!

Honestly (in my non-professional opinion ) I don't think that swallowing some of the amber would hurt a child. It's not "bad" for them, and the small pieces that are used in a lot of the necklaces aren't big enough to be a choking hazard. Now if yours is made of the larger beads, I'd be a bit concerned - like if one broke in half or something.... But the amber itself isn't going to do anything bad to DC's tummy, as far as I know.

We keep ds's under his shirt so he won't chew it. But he is pretty used to it now and doesn't bother it much. He has had it on for over 10 months now.

Not sure how multi colored you meant, but here are a couple at least on ebay.

I believe this is the one I have (bought it second hand from a mama here, but it is just a plain lemon one with a similar clasp) we are very happy with it.

Re: Amber teething necklace

I was so happy with ours whe we first go them and the girls wear them constantly, but this go around they have been no use. DD1 was up until midnight the other night just wailing as we waited for her motrin to kick in after trying everything else we could think of. I would have to say I am sadly disappointed.
