So.... I got a PP AF on Feb. 4 (almost exactly one month from delivery) albeit was kind of a wonky AF. My cycles were previously 25 days like clockwork. We DTD twice around my fertile period and realize that our condoms were expired....like one we used said 2006, the other said 2010. Now on day 28 with no sign of AF and lots of mucous (TMI sorry), negative dollar store test yesterday. I could still be adjusting, I hope!
Wouldn't that be crazy! How ineffective are expired condoms?

I think it has to do with the fact that they can dry out and crack...but don't quote me on that. I am going to go with you are just adjusting.

I really hope so... DH would have a harry fit and rush out and get that "v" immediately! I know the chances are slim and I am probably just adjusting....I've just never been longer than a 25day cycle. Maybe what I thought was AF wasn't? My PP bleeding had been done for a good 2 weeks before I started though. As soon as I saw that the wrappers were expired I started to freak...that was 2 weeks ago now and on my old cycle I would be 3 days late already. I was relieved when the dollar store test was Negative though.

I am almost positive condom expiration has to do with the risk of them breaking/drying out like Samantha said. I bet if you got a neg test your ok. All these whoopsies going around are freaking me out though lol I do NOT want to be in a 2011 ddc :| Suddenly reconsidering filling that prescription afterall

I would say it is a pretty slim chance, especially if it didn't crack or break! I understand your conern though, as we had an oops and I'm on pins and needles waiting to test. I'm going to take a test next week since that will be 2 weeks since the "incident." I will die if I end up in another 2011 ddc! Good luck mama! I'm sure you are fine

The Control line was very pale and the whole test area was pink like it had bled. No condoms broke. I wasn't sure if the rubber broke down over time and allowed little swimmer to get through the barrier... I know the spermicide expires in them.

I def don't want to be DDC 2011! Then again we're not planning to be ever again. Sort of sad about that.

Lindsey, did you get AF?

I bought some DT tests. I'm going to test on Tues. That will be 14 days after the incident. If it is negative then I think it is a pretty safe bet that I'm not pregnant. If it is positive, well, I will just die. Note to self: don't buy pregnancy tests until the day you plan to test. They are sitting in the closet begging to be peed on, but I don't want to get all relieved if it is negative when it could pop positive in a few days.
