Re: i think i want a whole new stash...

I had heavy wetters and had to move to fitteds. I could not keep a pocket from leaking for the life of me. I used hemp for stuffing. Once we moved to fitteds and now prefolds and flats we don't have any more leaks.

We always have way more leaks with our pockets. Do you find you have better luck with pockets?

I have a average wetter and my Softbums always wicked/leaked. I had to sell them off even though I really liked mine. Some people love them...I guess it's just hit or miss...KWIM?

I tried fitteds an it wasn't working. I've had good luck with my bg 4.0 I use 2 hempp inserts an it works well. Im wondering about happy heinys too. I really hate that im frustrated with my softbums

Go for it, and I highly recommend Green Acre Designs OS semi-fitteds!

Seriously though --- what kind of leaking? Do you think it might just be a phase and changing more often could help? Do Softbums have stretch at the leg or is the drawstring un-stretchy?

Have you added boosters? I always add a hemp or bamboo booster under the mf insert and it works really well.

Re: i think i want a whole new stash...

I had trouble with any kind of insert that could bunch up. I had remarkable luck with the BG AIO's that are on clearance right now, and it has a pocket opening so you can add doublers (which I did need to do, but not a big deal). Since the soaker is sewn in it doesn't bunch up when wet. They're only $10 right now and I think they have all the brights in stock. I was having to change DS's pants every time he peed when I was trifolding or using pockets, but with either the AIO's or fitteds the wetness is contained. Good luck.

We have to use prefolds instead of pockets when we think our ds is going to wets lots. This is really important for naps and nighttime. Otherwise our pockets are my DH's favorite diaper.

The elastic is stretchy. We do fine with tri fold pfs bg aio weren't too bad for us just got sick of the aplix on those love bg new aplix. I've used doublers of every sort changed super often an she's always leaking through pul at legs. Ds isn't as bad
