Questions about Apnea Monitors???

How often does your home apnea monitor need to be downloaded?? My sons was just downloaded on Wednesday afternoon, and we have had 3 or 4 alarms for bradycardia since then, and last night the alarm for 80% memory (light blinkiing) sounded, and an hour later full memory (light solid).

Is this normal?

I am cross listing this in special needs

Re: Questions about Apnea Monitors???

Do you turn it on and off frequently? The memory in ours also records every time its turned on or off, so that also uses up memory.

Ugh yeah he still naps frequently so it gets turned on and off frequently. They gave me a new monitor this evening. Hopefully this one will not be full before I get back from a week long trip!

Re: Questions about Apnea Monitors???

we were told to use ours only when DS was sleeping in a different room from where we were or when he is in the back of the car by himself. so he usually napped in his bouncy seat in the room i was in. nighttime he was in his own room on the monitor. i think our pulminologist downloaded only twice and the first visit was 2 weeks after he came home.

My DD was on her apnea monitor from birth until she was 1 year, 2 weeks old. We didn't have to have it downloaded too often at all and she wore it almost all of the time.

Re: Questions about Apnea Monitors???

Our girls came home with a full-time apnea monitor and we never once had the full light blink. They only did a download about once a month.

My son seems to be having significant bradycardia at nights. They are hoping this improves with age. Right now he is filling a monitor every two weeks.
