I'm not expecting but saw the thread title and thought I'd help
Potassium helps. Bananas are great, or kiwi fruit if you aren't a banana person. I got one so bad with my first around 36 weeks that I woke my husband (who'd sleep through an air raid siren) from across the house because one woke me up. He thought I was in labor. But eating a banana or two a day cleared it up

The quickest way to relieve one once it has started it to point your toes, to stretch your calfs.

Re: Leg Cramps??

Take a cal/mag supplement before bed. Even better, take a couple spread out in the evening so you get more and have a chance to absorb them. It really helps. I have only had one leg cramp, and it was on a night when I forgot to take the cal/mag.

Me too mama. pregnancy is the only time I get them too. I had a similar experience post#2. woke up in the middle of the night waking up hubby in the process. even trying to point my toes up didnt help. Hubby jumped out of bed and massaged the back of my calf and it dissapeared.

Eek! That's what brings it on for me! I have to make my foot flat to get it to stop.

Re: Leg Cramps??

I have yet to get any this pregnancy *knock on wood* but when I stretch my legs I make sure my feet are flat. If I point my toes thats when I will get one but if I remember to stretch with my feet flat pointed high I have yet to get one.

I had to stop pointing my toes. I found pushing out through my heel would stop them.
