but you do have to wash them by hand or on a gentle cycle (what I do) to ensure they maintain their leak proof status. The breathable poly are super awesome, too
DISCLAIMER- you must wash as manfactured reccomends cause it says so...

OFF THE RECORD
I've washed mine on hot dried mine consantly on hot I've used bleach I've used dreft and every thing inbetween yet here it is ummm 7 years latter and they are STILL going strong.

Just saying.... Off the record and all..

I don't get it -- how do these work if they are 100% cotton? How could these NOT compression-leak? It just seems odd to me that poly fleece covers wouldn't work better Are these the ones that have a coating on the cotton or are those the breathable poly? Thanks!

I think these would be a good option for breathable tri-folding and trim under clothes. I might have to try one b/c we can't do PUL!

Melanie, I think you'd like them! I can wear B when he is in one w/o getting a wet spot on my shirt. They are great for under clothing.

I totally understand. I tend to play it safe and wash fairly gently. The hand me down cotton Nikkys I have work like a charm, and I know they were all washed with regular diaper laundry before I got them

I think you'd like them too. I bet you could do the breathable poly also. They are as soft as a t-shirt and super lightweight and trim! They will last a many years, too.

I really want to try one now, but my DS2 is starting to PL! I guess that doesn't necessarily mean anything, it could take him a while to get the hang of it. I don't need breathable poly, have plenty breathable poly fleece soakers I'm going to give this some serious thought

I am sooo having this problem with wool. My back or front gets wet when I'm carrying DD. I may have to try these!

Sometimes it's a little steamy when I take him down, but definitely not damp like with fleece or wool.

Re: Nikky 100% cotton covers-compression leaks?

I have one and it held YDS through his 2 hour nap. He is a heavy wetter/tummy sleeper. He woke up and his megaroo was soaked, the cover damp on the inside, clothes and sheets dry I ordered 2 more for summer! They feel so soft too...I didnt realize they had to be washed differently though, I will probably just thrown them in with DH and I's unmentionables

Very trim too! I would have a whole stash if I could.
