Re: Kitchen Aid mixer?
I love mine, a red one I got for about $150 on clearance at Dillard's. They were clearancing out the dark red (gloss cinnamon) appliances for the bright new red. I think you could find one in the $200 price range if you shop around.

Re: Kitchen Aid mixer?
I have a Kitchen Aid Pro. I paid 198 at the Williams Sonoma/PB outlet. I have seen them for as cheap as 150 there. They are not refurbished either.

Re: Kitchen Aid mixer?
I think it is important to point out that the mixers all look very similar, but can vary with size of the mixing bowl and the motor. There are Professional ones that have a 5 quart bowl and 350 watt motor that will mix up to 7 cups of flour in a recipe. The others have 6 quart bowls and 500 watt motor that will mix up to 11 cups of flour. I have the smaller and bought a second hand one that I thought was larger and it wasn't. So I just thought I'd toss that out for your consideration too. It can seem like prices are all across the board for new ones, but you've got to get down to the nitty gritty to see the difference. Re: Kitchen Aid mixer?
I have the professional series with the 500 watt motor and 6 qt bowl. I LOVE it. I bought it refurbed. The final cost of the mixer and ice cream bowl attachment was $300.
At my old house the cabinets were too low to leave it sitting on my counter... we considered cutting my cabinets to make room for it. lol That's how badly I wanted it out because I used it so often. We ended up buying an extra island for it to stay out of.

Re: Kitchen Aid mixer?
I got mine on Amazon with a rebate several years ago. I've also seen them have refurbs for great prices. I think Overstock.com might get refurbs sometimes too.
