Re: # of diapers you have compared to # you use.

Well right now I own:

1 doz Preemie PF
1 doz infant PF
3 doz regular PF
2 doz Premium PF
5 dyed premium PF (which I am turning into Prefitteds)
18 Medium FB
1 Fitted
15 small covers
12 Medium covers
2 large covers

that is 118 diapers and 29 covers...of course I only use what fits her right now so that is the Premium PF's and Fuzzibunz and medium covers. But my neighbor has my regular PF's and small covers so technically those are currently being used too...What is funny is before DiaperSwappers I had 4 dozen PF's and that seemed like alot

I am buying more PF's from the co-op but they are to fatten up my baby stash...(no I'm not pregnant - just planning ahead)

Re: # of diapers you have compared to # you use.

I have about 70 prefolds, 14 fitteds, and 20ish pockets/ai2s. We always go through all of the fitteds, but only about 1/3 of the pfs and 1/2 of the pockets/ai2s between washings.

Oh, and I'm diapering 2 kids so 100+ diapers isn't so bad

Re: # of diapers you have compared to # you use.

We use almost everything we own. I have about 30 fitteds and 2 dozen prefolds, and the fitteds get about halfway used up from one wash day to the next, so it's easy to rotate: I usually have only one or two dipes left on wash day, so I take the fresh ones off the rack and they're ready to wear right away. The prefolds only get used at night, but the freshly washed ones go to the bottom of the stack so they all get used evenly.

We do have 2 Crickett's that are "emergency" diapers. I don't like the fit as much as I like my own dipes, so they aren't in the regular rotation, but they do get used occasionally if for whatever reason we run low. I also have 3 super-bulky nighttime dipes that don't get used often right now either. Everything else that is outgrown is packed away.

Me too! I also have 6 pockets that I only use at night and 6 more on the way (I've had some problems with sitters and PFs) and some floursack towels for flats and about 1/2 doz birdseye flats. We use every single one!

Re: # of diapers you have compared to # you use.

OMG, now I feel really bad about my stash. I have way too many diapers. I mean way too many. I would be embarassed to say how many (I just did inventory today). But we do use most of them at one time or another, but we do not actually rotate thru the entire stash on a regular basis. Each has an occasion I guess. But I am seriously running out of space, so I will have to downsize and figure out what to do with what he has outgrown and what doesn't fit well, etc. I will probably try to sell some and donate some to MD. I figure we go thru anywhere from 7-10 dipes per day right now and I wash only about twice per week. I used to wash every other day but we are in a drought here and trying to conserve water. Anyway, I still get nowhere near the bottom of my stash, not ever. I blame DS. Pre-DS I was totally happy with a few FB, a few BG, and some SB's and PUL covers. But when I discovered DS I got sucked into trying all the latest and greatest and discovered wool too. So my old staples get used much less now that I know about some of the fabulous WAHM/HC dipes.

Re: # of diapers you have compared to # you use.

We use everything we own. I did not start cding until Joey was 12 months, so I started with size large diapers. I have tried lots of things, but sell what does not work for us. I recently streamlined our stash.
We have 15 larges GADs....use them all.
8 Goodmamas....use them all
2 wool soakers and a pair of longies....use all

I need to add a few more pieces of wool, and I should be set.

I have about 15 larges and about 18 mediums and I use them all. They are rotated and last about 2 days. I think my medium boy is about to graduate to larges! I need more larges! LOL!

That is the same with us. But I do use them every one and awhile since we spent the money on them. Then I remember why I hate them!
