However, at almost 24 pounds and me with a bad back I am using a wrap and my new onhubimos more.

Yeah. It must be. I'm aggervated now bc I can return it, but Iwill lose five Dollars for a restock fee.. WTH.. I think it's lame. But I do have a ? about the ring sling. Doesn't it like bother you were the ring is?? TY.. Nikki

I have a hard time doing 1 shoulder carriers at all, I started with wraps, you can make your own without sewing

www.wearyourbaby.com

but I moved into a MTC pretty quickly because it was just easier to get on/off by myself, the site I linked above also has instructions to make your own no-sew MTC if cost is something that is a big issue for you.

this is what I would have said exactly!

I had the wrap style and the ring sling.. I LOVED them both when he was a newborn..and so did he... I personally loved the ring sling and still do ... when he was little .. he would nurse in it .. while I would walk in the mall with my other two children .. and now I use it for everything at 7mths.. he even takes a shower with me ( we have a solarveil ring sling )

a moby wrap worked best for us from about 10-20ish pounds. we used it from about 2 months - 11 months and really could still be using it (DS is 26 pounds/16 months) but i like my ergo more now - doesn't take as long to get on and off and my gosh does this kid like to be down *now* when he is ready to get down!

Re: What's the best way to wear my baby?

My best advice is to check out the loaner program on www.thehappybaby.net. For about $30 you can try the different kinds out there and figure out what works for you. I would also recommend trying to find a NINO group (www.nineinnineout.org). They usually have a lending library and a bunch of BTDT Mamas to help you out. Lastly check out www.thebabywearer.org for more info than you could ever imagine. I have a pouch, 2 rings, a wrap, a Beco, and 4 Mei Tais. I love them all for the different things they are good at. I know, that's no help at all

Re: What's the best way to wear my baby?

Get a 2nd hand Moby, preferably a Moby D off of thebabywearer.com. You'll save some bucks, it's GREAT for when baby is so young, more comfy I think for a heavier babe than a one shouldered carry (though you probbly would like a Ringsling too). Then you'll have some money to get a meitei for when baby has more head support. I like our babyhawk, but I didn't get it until baby was older. HTH!!!

STRETCHY WRAP!!!!!!

Sorry to shout, but Ithink these should be given to every new mom. They rock! Once he gets head control get a mei tai or a woven wrap and do a back carry.
