Hot & sticky

Man, it has been over 100 the last few days and my dd doesn't want to nurse. She's being a little bugger. 8 months old and off and on already. It is very hot that we are all hot and a little bit irritable, including my dd. Tryng to stay cool so she can nuse and be comfy.

Just venting.... thanks.

Re: Hot & sticky

Yuck, we had a few days in the 90's already here, considering I'm in wisconsin that's pretty hot. I had trouble nursing my dd also. I just nursed her in the house w/the a/c on so I didn't really figure out a way to keep cool while nursing in the heat.

Re: Hot & sticky

We're in Atlanta and our AC went out last summer while DJ was still nursing...YUCK!! Most of the time we were all pretty close to naked but I found out nursing was a whole lot more comfortable if we both wore a thin t-shirt or something...skin to skin contact was just sweaty and sticky and gross! He was over a year old at the time too so I tried to encourage him to drink from a cup when he would...a lot of the time he was nursing for comfort and it was like he couldn't figure out why this "comfort thing" was suddenly making him miserable...but he just wouldn't quit trying! Otherwise, we kept the fans running full blast, used lots of cool washcloths and frozen treats, and got out of the house into the AC as much as possible. Good luck!

Ah the joys of nursing in the summer. She sweats so bad to begin with, her hair gets damp and we just stick together. But it's well worth it!
