would this make up for it??

I placed an order through a store. the items were said to ship in about 4 week (it was a pre-order). I did not receive a shipping notice one week after said ship date....so I emailed and they said they were running a "little" late and the message (on a Sunday) said they would go out on that Monday (the 6th). I got a shipping email on The 10th with a DC saying "expected" ... I still have not received the items today so I check the DC and it shows "acceptance" on the 16th

So, in my first contact (when it was 1 week late from advertised shipping date) I was given a 15% off code for my "inconvenience" which I thought was great because they said they were going out that next day - when in reality they did not go out for 10 more days...

So, is a 15% off code reasonable for such LONG delays in shipping - and flat out lying to me in the emails? I am not sure I would ever shop with them again because I am so bummed about the delay in shipping, so the code is really just to give them MORE business

I guess the question is "is it worth it to you?"

Is it worth 15% off for such a long shipping delay and run around? For me, no, that kind of thing just annoys me, but for someone else 15% off might be a bigger deal to them, or maybe it was a really hard to find item they couldn't get from someplace else, so they are willing to put up with bad customer service. It doesn't matter if it would make up for it to the rest of us. You are the customer. If 15% didn't "make up" for for snail shipping and poor communication, don't buy from them again. You'd be perfectly justified. Plenty of places ship out right away.

From the seller's point of view, I don't think they were trying to make up for it as in an eye for an eye point of view, just acknowledge that they were causing you inconvenience.

I would want a 10 or 15% credit back on the item you ordered, and then not shop their again, but if you are dissatisfied enough not to shop there again, the coupon code is really worthless.

I guess I wanted to know if that is "reasonable" for such delays....

or what others would feel would be reasonable....

I do not have to buy directly from them - though the selection is better -

I would be fine with it. I guess I'd rather have the discount applied to the current order, or I'd just cancel the order and return it to them when it got there.
