Re: Easy/inexpensive freezer recipes

21 meals done 4 meals worth of pulled roast already cooked and shredded just waiting for me to combine other ingrediants and freeze. So I didn't quite make my 30 meals...but 25 is good enough. Going to unthaw 2 meals worth of hamburger for sloppy joes...so I will be at 27!

Amy- YAY! Love other deer eating mommas. LOL

Stef- Thanks! Aww I'm sorry! I hope you will be joining another DDC soon!

Dh and I also process our own deer every year. This year we processed three and I am ashamed to admit most of it is still sitting in our other freezer at my parents house because I keep forgetting. I so need to go get a bunch and stock up our freezer this week!

Re: Easy/inexpensive freezer recipes

I found boneless, skinless chicken breasts for $1.39/lb. over the weekend...so I bought $25 worth, and spent about 1.5 hours putting it all up! Now, if I can just find a good haul of ground turkey, I am about set!!!

It's so surprising that so many of you eat deer! I thought we were the only ones. My in-laws actually own and operate a deer processing facility so we get ours done for free and it is so nice. We never buy beef except for steaks occasionally and it helps so much money wise. Plus I love how much healthier it is.

I didn't put up any meals last time since my in-laws live just down the road and my mom is 10 minutes away. They brought us lots of food but I think it was just an excuse to come over and see the baby. I think I am going to freeze some this time though and see if it helps to keep the visitors away. =)

Re: Easy/inexpensive freezer recipes

LOL Megan...send them my way...my relatives live right in town (in laws, siblings, parents) and we have never been brought one meal with any of my kids. Oh well....and I just assumed everyone ate deer meat until I mentioned it the other day to a few women and they looked like they wanted to vomit. HAHAHAHA

***I didn't get my 30 meals done I wanted...but I did get 27 done

so impressed Lexy!! I have nothing, but I might actually make a bunch of what I made for dinner tonight - turkey burgers. I realized I can freeze a bunch of those and they're easy to reheat and eat.
