Bummis Super Lite - scratchy aplix?

The aplix on our new Bummis Super Lite is scratching the top/front of DS's thighs. I'm so sad - I really wanted to love this cover! It fits great, the color is awesome and the price is right.

Has anyone else had this problem? How did you fix it? If these fit your LO well, what other covers work well for you?

I hated that cover. We tried it on and sent it right back to the store.

I hate snaps, but thanks for the suggestion. I'd much rather sell it and find something else with aplix.

Ya know, I had the same issue. I thought it was a fluke. I haven't tired the cover since.

could the velcro in front be shortened? Like rip out the stitching carefully, and cut the front strip shorter, and re-sew it?

I do think it's weird that the aplix goes all the way to the edge. And it's not that soft so it just invites scratches. I don't know what to say, and we didn't have any scratches with ours, but I'd probably just go with a different cover.

We have the same problem. I wish they wouldn't sew the loop part into the seam. It would probably solve the problem.

Re: Bummis Super Lite - scratchy aplix?

I had the same problem with mine. What I did was took off the velcro hook tabs, and laundry tabs very carefully with a seam ripper. I then trim them down slightly (so they are thinner than the loop tummy strip), then when I resewed the tabs back on, I sewed them on so that they stuck out off the edge of the wings, partially (like other bummis wraps do, thirsties etc). The laundry tabs I moved out slightly, but really, I probably didn't have to redo those, just the hook tabs. Now the stress points don't allow the velcro to lift at the edges and scratch DS. It stays done up nice and flat...Ok I'm tired, did I make any sense? lol.

This works great for us but DS is in the middle of the size range for our cover, it may not work if your LO is at the beginning of the size range, but I thought I'd put what I did out there anyway since it worked for us.

Re: Bummis Super Lite - scratchy aplix?

I'm glad I'm not the only one, I guess. It's not the laundry tabs part for us - it's the corner of the front strip of the aplix - it's sharp! I don't sew, and that seems like a lot of work for a diaper cover (no offense to you guys that have done it!). I think we'll be finding something else to try.

Do any of the other Bummi's covers fit like the Super Lite? Are there any covers with a similar fit?
