Best diaper if no hot water (African Missionary)

A friend of mine is a missionary in Africa and they want to CD their toddler and newbie. They don't have any hot water, so she will have to boil water. What system should I suggest to her?

We use pockets, but I think that might be a little too difficult over there.

Thanks!

Flats or prefolds with covers. Thirsties, Flips, or Bummis would be my suggestion.

flats for sure... i almost switched to them when i was having machine problems... they clean so easy. then wool or pul covers would be great, with wool, she would only have to wash them every few weeks unless they got poop on them and they are breathable. If i lived in Africa i would most def, use wool over pul.

Surely the best route would be flats or prefolds since cleaning would be easier and less time-consuming. I'm not sure what the best cover would be but I'd make sure it's durable and easy to maintain and clean. I've been told the Flips are a little less durable (thinner material) than others.

100% cotton cleans the easiest so I would have to say pre-folds as well. Thirsties covers are my favorite and clean so easily. I live in TX where it is HOT (100+) and humid in the summer and we have had no problems with PUL. I have used wool in the summer and it is still really hot so I would say a thin wool and change often.

I would also say flats...and maybe an interlock or jersey wool cover with some spandex in it. It would have the antibacterial properties, and she could scrub it off in spots between washings if need without worrying about damaging it.

FLATS SHE COULD BOIL HER WATER AND CLEAN THEM IN A HUGE POT AND LAY TO DRY THEN SUGGEST A GOOD COVER LIKE ECOBUM, THRISTIES OR MAYBE EVEN WOOL LIKE THAT OTHER MAMA SAID WOOL IS BREATHABLE, ABSORBENT AND DOESNT HAVE TO BE WASHED EVERY TIME AND THAT SHOULD WORK WELL FOR HER.

flats for sure. If you think she would like pockets I would say you could get her some shells and have her use flats for inserts. If you think she would like covers and flats I would say OS kawaii covers for the oldest and thirsties duo 1's for the newbie.
