Shettles method..

Just out of curiosity has anyone had success with the shettles method? The DH and I are thinking of using it to try for a girl (we will be thrilled no matter what) but I was just wondering if anyone has tried it....

Re: Shettles method..

We did, it was an opps sort of, but it would've hit shettles method timing. We bd 4 days before I o'd ( I o'd early) and we got another girl!

I've heard of ovulation + 12 hours too.....that was our timing with our first girl, so I don't know lol.

According to Shettles, boy #4 should have been a girl. We dtd 3 days before O and 2 days after, lol.

I think there is supposed to be more to it than just timing, but if you go by the timing alone, at least one of my three girls is supposed to be a boy (conceived on the day of O.) My other two were conceived by dtd every other day, so either the day of or the day before o.

Re: Shettles method..

I would not put much stock in trying to gender select by timing and such....We knew exactly when I O'd, we triggered 36 hours before I O'd, so by the methods baby should have been a boy, lo and behold my husband is holding our princess right now. We pretty much had everything perfect for a boy and have a beautiful little girl who I would not trade for the world.

After dealing with infertility for over 6 years, my thinking is you are either gonna have a boy or a girl and one should take that blessing and love him or her because they were blessed to conceive!

We tried it and it worked... 2 days before ovulation, and here she is.

Re: Shettles method..

I tried diet and Shettles for a girl. But I o'd a lot earlier than I thought I would and ended up having sex on the day that I ovulated. We ended up with a boy and can't wait to meet him!

I was just curious. Reality, we wouldn't care either way but it's always fun to do the research

Re: Shettles method..

Well if the timing part holds true at all, we should be expecting a girl...which would be a total shock, as there has not been a girl born in Dan's family in more generations than anyone can remember. I'm totally prepared for a boy, but the month we conceived, we only had unprotected sex once, 5 days before I ovulated.

10 more weeks and we'll know what we're having! I can't wait to see if this method rang true for us!
