Re: bumgenius 4.0 questions

oops. I never saw that sticker. I just washed a clementine, ribbit, and moonbeam with everything else and it was fine.

I stuff mine with a small GMD flat or a yellow edge GMD prefold and it's pretty trim. I haven't had any problems.

O no! I have one pink one. I guess i'll just do a few washes then, just to make sure. Thanks! I'm glad to hear that the inserts are working well for you!!!

Re: bumgenius 4.0 questions

I stuff mine with Flip organic inserts and the absorb a ton. I had an issue with the 3.0 in moonbeam. It made all of my other BG AIOs in that load moonbeam, but that is the only time that's happened. I'm lazy so, I've been washing my 4.0s only one time with no issues.

Re: bumgenius 4.0 questions

I just got a Zinnia and it had the sticker that said to wash the dark colored ones 6 times before washing with the rest of the stash, I just soaked it in a dispan for a few hours until I was ready to throw it in the wash, everything was fine.

I stuff with babykicks hemp inserts, I also have a couple of HH hemp inserts w/ doublers that I use when we need a little extra insurance.

Re: bumgenius 4.0 questions

I have several bright 4.0s and even though the sticker says that, I always just wash once before using. Almost all my diapers are bold colors and I've never had any issue with colors running in the wash. If you're really worried, you can add some vinegar to the rinse just in case as that helps prevent bleeding dyes. (Good trick for new jeans too!)

Re: bumgenius 4.0 questions

With my BG's, during the day, I usually just use the single insert that came with them. At night, I'll add another layer of microfiber and a thirsties hemp (total of 3 layers). No leaks!

I've owned a lot of BGs and have never washed the brights separately. Never had a problem.

Whoops, pressed enter too soon. I stuff mine w/ Flip Organic inserts for daytime. A little on the bulky side but my daughter is a super soaker so bulk is just part of the territory. I like using the cotton inserts better anyway - no funk from the microfiber!
