Natural sleeping aids?

I am about 18.5 weeks along and about 1-2 nights a week I am having insomnia. Most of the time its around 3am and I cannot go back to sleep. It makes for a REALLY long day at work and with the kids.

I am wondering if there are any natural remedies or methods to try to help with this? some one told me they use Melatonin and it helps a lot but they weren't sure if it was safe during pregnancy.

Can anyone help? TIA!

My mom says that Niacinamide is what you should take- it's Niacin without the part that can make you itchy.

maybe some kind of lavender lotion at bedtime? I don't know, I've been doing the same thing but not every night.

Re: Natural sleeping aids?

My midwives recommended Calms Forte. I do fall asleep and sleep more soundly with it but my husband thinks it's in my head.
