Ovulating while BF'ing

I didn't want to post this in TTC because we're really not TTC. DH told me about two months ago that he was pretty sure he didn't want any more kids. On 3/20, however, he told me that he was okay if I did want another baby, but it was up to me. Not two hours later we DTD and did nothing to prevent anything. It was CD14 for me. I usually O CD11-14.

DD is 13mo and I've had AF since she was 8mo. In that 5 months, there has been zero evidence of O. No EWCM. I never had to temp to get pregnant because my cycles are regular and there's always been EWCM with a +OPK to back it up somewhere between CD11 and CD14. I haven't been using OPKs because we're not TTC so I have no idea if things have changed hormonally for me since DD was born.

My question is... Have any mamas conceived while breastfeeding when there's no signs of ovulation?

Just bc you used to o then doesn't mean you still do. I would just test when you are late and try not to stress. It's only a 20% that you concieved.

Re: Ovulating while BF'ing

I never noticed any signs of O when we conceived... I was 7m PP with no PPAF. In retrospect, the only 'sign' was that I actually WANTED to DTD which was a first in a VERY long time...

We conceived the baby I'm carrying right now before I even got my AF back and I had no evidence of ovulation at all...

Re: Ovulating while BF'ing

I've been having almost constant signs of ovulation, but only ONE pp period (at 12 months). It's really frustrating. I guess I will have to cut back on her nursing if I really want to start ovulating regularly again- the one that I had came after I had been sick for a day or so and not nursing as much.

Stalking too

I was having irregular AF (as usual) and caught O signs out of nowhere and conceived this one! You would think that if you are having AF, you're *probably* Oing too.

Re: Ovulating while BF'ing

AF has been pretty regular. It really never occured to me that I'd O without having EWCM. I'm supposed to be getting an IUD next month, matter of fact.

We usually use condoms or pull-n-pray, but this one time we just didn't do anything. I take responsibility because he did ask me and I told him it was fine. On the other hand, we had literally JUST had a conversation about how I wasn't ready to say no more babies. So he has to take some of the heat if I am pg, right? LOL

Our agreement was that we'd wait until DD was 2 before making any decisions on another baby. I couldn't sleep last night, freaked out about having one so much sooner. Unplanned pregnancies are NOT normal for me!
