Re: can I see your sewing stations?

I AM LOVING ALL THESE SPACES.... its giving me amazing ideas.... FIRST I need more fabric and thread lol... I was considering an L shaped Desk in the room but Now Im thinking it might be More cost effective and actually a Bit easier if I just got 2 tables that fold down heres an Example of the desk style I was thinking of using What do you guys think?

if you get fold down tables make sure the ones that you are going to put your machines on are super sturdy. Especially if you have a surger.

What great spaces everybody! I don't have a dedicated sewing space but I am hoping to have one when we move this summer

the problem with some folding tables is that if they aren't sturdy your machine will bounce around a ton. Makes it really hard to sew anything. I had to switch to a better table because of that.

Re: can I see your sewing stations?

I love seeing people's sewing stations... I am very jealous! But on the bright side, we are going to be moving, and DH has plans for a office/ sewing room...

Babylovinmama - i love all those built in cupboards you have!!

Re: can I see your sewing stations?

I'm in the middle of redoing my room. It is not in a pic-worthy state right now, probably never will be!!!.... but just came onto a brilliant idea..... I was hanging my patterns flat on the wall...... there are so many... it was starting to be too many holes! or there would be like 10 on one nail and it would be a pain to get the one off the bottom!
- but since I have a lot of space on a hanging rod in the adjacent basement.... I clip them to wire hangers with clothespins and hang 'em up.
Now I just need to rob a dry cleaners for some more thin wire hangers.... you can't buy those (and I just threw away a ton of them last fall!!!!)

and - ditto to the the PPs... in the interim of moving my sewing room - I had my machines (reg & serger) on a folding card table.
jump jump jump jump jump.......... was not good!

Re: can I see your sewing stations?

My sewing area has been temporarily moved to a spare table in the corner of our dining room.

My actual sewing area is in the sealed basement, with the laundry room and play room, but it's been SUPER cold here this winter, we don't heat the basement, and it was incredibly inconvenient to only be able to sew when the dryer was running to warm things up.
