PLEASE HELP---both dds cut hair!!! updated

Please help me!!! While I was upstairs putting ds down for his nap, both of my daughters cut their hair....big time!!!!!! They both had beautiful long hair 10 minutes ago, now it is choppy and VERY short is some places... Older dd (the lighter, unfortunately more cut up hair) is curly so it is going to be really short!!!

Does anyone have any suggestions for me on how to make into cuter haircuts. DH is out of town and is going to be furious when he finds out!!!

I got my haircut this morning and I guess they decided they wanted theirs done too!!!!

PLEASE HELP!!

***Updated***
I took them to get their first "real" haircut. Older dd got a very cute layered bob. Younger dd had some big chunks out of one side, so hers is not as cute....but it could've been worse. And by the end of the summer, hopefully hers will look good again. It is just hard because she (younger) always wears pigtails (she calls them bunny ears) and she cried when the stylist cut her hair, because she can't have bunny ears anymore.

I was expecting to see scalp or something LOL You can get those evened out and layered nicely. It'll grow back fast. It won't look bad at all IMO, my DD's hair is kept shoulder/chin length because that is what looks good on her.

My DD did the same EXACT thing when she was 2. The hairdresser was able to nicely layer it without making it short. Your girls both still have a lot of length. I would just take them to get it layered/evened. They will look beautiful with some shaping.

Whooo, that bites but I think you got away lucky. My sister cut her hair once and literally gave herself a buzz cut on top.

I agree with the PP though, either get it layered or just get it cut into a cute bob.

Re: PLEASE HELP---both dds cut hair!!!

Cut it chin length or a length that will make it mostly even. Summer is just around the corner.

my 3 yo did this too.. most beautiful wavy blond hair.. and because my oldest can't ever listen to me (guh 6.5 yo's..) she (oldest) didnt put her scissors away after doing her homework.. then her sister got it.. and, there are some parts that were close to scalp.. on the underside of her hair.. i just cut it all chinlength.. and gave her a new part.. you can't tell she hacked it up really badly (while it was BRAIDED) none the less..

I'm so sorry they do seem to have lost alot of length, but it looks highly salvageable.

Let me put this in some perspective for you...
my neighbour kid gave herself a REVERSE MOHAWK just about by cutting AT THE SCALP in the middle of her FOREHEAD.
