Re: How are you avoiding?

Just so you mamas know, charting is totally possible for women with irregular cycles. In fact, it could benefit you cause you'll know when/if you're ovulating, and you'll also know when to expect af so it doesn't surprise you. And it can sometimes help to uncover some hormonal imbalances or other cycle issues that you may not know about (which may be the cause of wacky cycles). Just some food for thought.

Are there natural foods that can help with imbalances?

Re: How are you avoiding?

We're straight NFP-er's here. And like blessedwifenmama said, charting is great if you have irregular cycles. DS is 18 months, but still breastfeeding for about 95% of his nutrition, so my cycles are really wacky (the past three cycles have ranged from 30-56 days), but with charting at least I have *some* idea what's going on.

You might want to check out the book "Fertility, Cycles, and Nutrition" by Marilyn Shannon. I learned a ton from it!

Re: How are you avoiding?

We used Creighton Model of NFP and well it hasn't worked real well for us, lmao. Like this time I O'd 4-5 days early and it had been 4-5 days since we dtd and here we are again .

I am looking into the Lady Comp. I just would love a little bit more of a break this time......we will see. I'll be back in a couple months , though normally my cycle doesn't come back until around the 1st birthday.

Re: How are you avoiding?

I have a Mirena IUD. I'm also still breastfeeding/pumping very regularly. I was trying to chart for awhile, but LO's sleep habits are all over the place so I gave up. I haven't had a PPAF, not sure if it's the breastfeeding or the IUD keeping it away. I don't think I could handle another pregnancy. We are getting ready to start the adoption process, and two is enough for us, so we're trying hard to avoid.

Abstinance here too. Haven't since a month before DS was born...
I'm just not into it and too focused on DS to even THINK about DTD.

I thought I was the only one. With me it is more that I am too tired from working all day then coming home and chasing around DD to feel like DTD.

I once heard someone compare DTD to going to the gym. You may not really want to do it and it is hard to motivate but you feel better once you've gone.

I wish our reason for it was being tired. We fear pregnancy. I had such a difficult pregnancy with our youngest and for most of the pregnancy the doctors were saying one of us wouldn't make it. thankfully we both made it With some issues however miracles happen and we have healed and are both healthy now. I can't live with that fear again. We did get pregnant again in 2009 but miscarried at 12wks. It was a very scary 12wks, I didn't want my children to lose their mother because birth control failed so we just decided that abstinance is the safest for us.
