Re: The "Million Dollar" family
Sickening. I just had my 2nd boy and I'm very glad to have 2 boys!! I don't think that it's "perfect" family to have a boy and a girl.

Never heard the term, but I've definitely heard the sentiment. I'm beyond thrilled with my boy and my girl. But it makes me sad when I hear people insinuate that two boys or two girls isn't enough. I have several friends with two boys and I think it is awesome. I think the bond between two brothers or two sisters is something very special.

Re: The "Million Dollar" family
I know a family that has 3 boys because they wanted a girl (they were going to stop at 2 kids, but the wife wanted a girl, so they tried again and got another boy). After we had our DD (which then made our family a million dollar family), the wife was holding DD and she actually said, "Why does everyone else get to have a girl, and I don't?"
![]() Seems sad to me that a child's gender makes them more/less desirable. We have 2 boys and a girl now, and yeah I'd like a girl next, so DD has someone to paint fingernails w/ and do hair w/ in a few years, but really, she'll love playing w/ her brothers too. And hey, she can do that "girly" stuff w/ Mommy

Re: The "Million Dollar" family
Well I want a check too! Super annoying when people get worked up over gender. I had a coworker who was DEVASTATED that she was having another boy to the point where you could not mention her pregnancy around her. I thought it was so sad.
What's really aggravating are all the unsolicited comments telling us to stop since we have both now. Well thanks but we'll handle our own family planning. What should I do with #3? Throw it out since I already have one of each, I guess.

OP, you're the only person I've heard/read say that phrase
Have you stopped to think that maybe they all get it from you?Quote:
And they had three and four kids each so not like a "big" family was something unheard of for them (big compared to just one kid).
