Birth certificate

Hey, Texas mamas.

I live in Louisiana. I had my LO at a birth center in Marshall on May 18th. We turned in the birth certificate application right away, but I noticed that Texas doesn't send you a complimentary certified copy like Louisiana does.

How long should I wait for her birth certificate to be recorded before I try to request a copy? 6-8 weeks?

I do know it's about $32. I didn't get my son's until we were going on a trip and needed it to prove he was under 2 (at the time).

Anyway, you shouldn't have to wait that long, 6-8 weeks should be plenty of time.
