very new to babywearing. need help!

Hi! I'm very new to babywearing, but I really want to try it. I have a 3 week old DD and she really likes to be held all the time, and I need to get my hands back so I can do things around the house and with my older DD. Any suggestions? Something for under $75 and breathable, my LO gets hot pretty easy. Thanks so much!

Congratulations!! You could get a stretchy wrap for your LO....but that would probably only last you until around 15 lbs....maybe go for a Freehand MT...they are amazingly suited to little babies and offer a bit more support than a stretchy and are right around that price...OR you could get a SSC (buckle carrier) like an ERGO or a beco, but the price would be higher (but it would last you through toddlerhood! You also might find one on FSOT...or go with a better priced brand SSC like an Action Baby Carrier! Good luck and try not to get overwhelmed with all the information out there with babywearing and baby carriers!

You might try a gauze wrap...it'll be supportive enough for quite a while and they are super thin and airy (I got one for summer use)!

I would try a ring sling. I love mine. I got it new from Sweet Pea Ring Slings for $45. It's super easy to get on and get baby in and out. The only bad thing is that it only goes over one shoulder. I had a Moby wrap too (a stretchy) and I thought it was a bit warm.

I would go with a ring sling too, super easy to figure out and most are breathable. I loved my sleepy wrap with a newborn but with summer coming it is going to be hot. I have a freehand Mei Tai and didn't like it with a newborn. I still felt I needed a hand on her to keep her in place.

For one shoulder I agree with a ring sling, for two shoulders a gauze wrap or basic mt would be great.

Yes, a gypsy mama/wrapsody gauze wrap would be perfect! I love wraps for new babies
