No, it isn't really your uterus that is bleeding, it is mostly the placenta. A boggy uterus won't have anything to do with a previa. Nor will RRL tea. In fact, contractions can cause more problems so if RRL irritates your uterus and causes BHs, you need to stay away from it until your placenta moves.

Unfortunatley this is one of those really annoying situations where you literally cannot do anything to help. Nothing will make it move (at least nothing has been scientifically proven to do so) and nothing will make a bleeding episode less. It just depends on what specific part is bleeding and how quickly it clots. Sorry! It sucks to not be able to intervene!

Re: Tell me about your experience with complete placenta previa

I was told I had complete previa at 20 weeks with dd1, and it was completely moved by the 3rd trimester!

Fingers crossed that yours moves

My SIL's did not and she ended up with a c-section 2 weeks before her EDD.

Re: Tell me about your experience with complete placenta previa

So many more positive stories than negative. Just what I wanted to hear! I was also told that because my placenta is posterior, and not central it has a better chance of moving. With central it implants directly ON the cervix and the blood vessels/cord etc. are all pretty melded in there and not moving much.

Meganne- This is so hard for me, the proactive, OCD, control freak!! It really is one of those things you can't do anything about. I'm just going to hope for the best. I'll update as I get more ultrasounds. Hope to have a great positive ending!

Another question:

Do you think my frequent spotting could be from it moving??
The first few months I just had random brown cm, but it was maybe 3 times total. The time I got it checked out was when it was brown blood, not mixed with cm.
Well since then, it seems to be becoming more frequent. It is SMALL amounts of brown cm almost daily now. Why would it continually bleed?

I had a complete at 12 weeks and it was gone by 20 weeks. Give it a chance.

It's one of those things, though, that if it doesn't move out of the way you'll need a scheduled c/s. As a rabid home birther, you can trust me when I say just go with it. It's too dangerous and if I had a complete placenta previa, I'd be walking myself in for a c/s.

That's great news. I'm just hoping that the more frequent spotting I'm having is related to it moving away as my uterus grows, and not it detaching or whatever.

Oh I definitely know that if it doesn't move I'll need a c/s. I've researched them a bit so I am more informed just in case.
