Re: Manilla Envelopes to ship packages~ NOT Allowed
The answer is in the original post. If you ship in a manilla envelope and we are alerted to it you will be removed from FSOT. Period.
Polymailers are cheap and easily accessible. There is an ecoenclose polymailer coop on the calendar already. We ran it in the past as well. There is also currently (and frequently) a valumailer coop. Thanks ladies for complying with admin's decision re: no shipping in manilla envelopes.

Re: Manilla Envelopes to ship packages~ NOT Allowed
I'm sorry that some of you are not happy with this rules, but they are our rules and need to be followed. We made this rule to protect both sellers and buyers from potential issues. Thank you for understanding!

Ok I just feel that I should ask, what can we use instead? I mean, I don't sell enough to buy polymailers and when I do sell I obviously can't wait to ship someone's package. The boxes are fine but they weigh more ya know? When your on that line between fc and priority/parcel can sometimes be a huge profit difference and bubble mailers are so expensive! If I buy a bubble mailer then shipping on a 8 dollar diaper, that's like half of what I would make. What are other options that aren't expensive or heavy and allowed. I don't really think it's fair cause I assumed that no matter what we ship in, it's our responsibility. Sometimes it truly is the only option, the closest store besides the dollar store is a 45min drive or I can pay an exorbitant amount at the post office. I just think that if there is going to be a rule like this that we should be given an idea of what to use instead in a pinch. What if we don't have brown paper sacks or extra boxes or run out of polymailers? I don't know, I'm not going to lie, I feel as though it should be my choice to ship in whatever I like.
I'm not saying I'm leaving ds or won't follow the rules by any means, I just feel like we should be given options on what to use instead. I wrap mine in tape and anything can be overpacked and you can cut an item just as easy in a polymailer. I've done it. Polymailers you have to wait on and the others are just so easy and cheap and light, even with tape. I use*d* the small ones for single diapers covered in tape and it was so cheap!

Re: Manilla Envelopes to ship packages~ NOT Allowed
seems to me a manilla envelope completely covered with tape is really no longer "just 2 layers of paper" and is instead a sturdy AND even water-resistant plastic mailer and absolutely suitable for shipping.

Re: Manilla Envelopes to ship packages~ NOT Allowed
^totally agree. Im 'guilty' of shippin in a manila envelope also, but it was reenforced with tape & in the event of a lost item, I the seller would have refunded what I needed to. I dont see why its sucha big deal to have a rule dedicated to just this.
