Re: How much do you pay a MONTH for child care?

Well, I'm a nanny and I make $10/hour and work 8 hours a day x3 days a week so I make about 960 a month. On the other hand, my kids go to preschool one afternoon a week and I only pay $3.56 an hour! That means I only pay $6o or so a month but I end up sending them extra days sometimes so usually total cost is $100 or so for everything.

Re: How much do you pay a MONTH for child care?

2 kids in a center. They can go from 6:30a-5pm, but they dont. They're usually there 7:30a-4:30p. 2 meals and 2 snacks are included. For dd formula and all baby food is included, but we send bm.

I pay $1383 per month total. Ouch. We are not metro. I'd say we're probably rural. This is by far the most expensive dcp in town but it's also the best. It breaks down to less than $4 per hour, so I'm good w/ it.

Hi'ipoi, that's so cool that it's cheaper. The montessori schools here are more expensive.

Re: How much do you pay a MONTH for child care?

I have a 18 mo old and a 4 year old in full time daycare. Our center is open 6-6 and they are there from about 8:30-5 M-F. Our daycare includes a preschool, breakfast (if you're there early) lunch and is also in a church. It is wonderful! We pay $696/mo for both boys. When my kindergarterner will join in summer, or on his days off school he's and extra $5/day. We live in a rural community in central Kansas. In homes are cheaper but we've been to two of those and had bad experiences. LOVE our daycare now!

Re: How much do you pay a MONTH for child care?

My daughter attends daycare 4 days a week right now, and we're paying $200 per week, so about $900 per month. We're thinking of enrolling her in a Montessori preschool when she turns 2, and I think that the cost is about the same.

Re: How much do you pay a MONTH for child care?

Wow a lot of you must have super good paying jobs there is no way I could have afforded your day care costs. My hubby has been a stay-at-home dad for the past 10 months but we used to pay a babysitter to come to our home. I live in Oregon, fairly rural. For 3 children (at the time 4 and 2 year old twins) I paid $7/hour. This was for crazy hours, weekends, sometimes 13 hours at a time. Generally we averaged about $800-$900/month for 30-40 hours per week.

Re: How much do you pay a MONTH for child care?

I live in Richmond VA, and pay $125 a week, so...$500 a mo? She watches 3 other kids, but its not a big deal, because my son gets the attention he needs.

We live in the suburbs in NJ. I currently pay 850 a month from 6:45am- 3pm for my son. Infants under 18 months cost 1100 a month at our daycare. Each September the center raises its rates by 3 percent. UG
