Allergy Medication

I called our pedi and they were no help at all. Is there an allergy med or home remedy that I can give Ezra. Tyler and I both have allergy's really bad and today when we took him to the park we noticed he got a runny nose, watery and blood shot eyes and was just a bit off. Is there anything we can try? He's 17 months and is about 25lbs.

Re: Allergy Medication

Our Dr just put my son on childrens Zyrtec. DS is 14 months and about 24 lbs he takes 1/2 teaspoon at night. The Dr says Zyrtec is safe for kids over 6 months but to take at night because it may make him drowsy. He has only been on it for a week but. It is making a huge difference!

I have been looking around and that seems the one to use. Can you get it OTC or do I have to have a script? I can't get in to see the pedi for like 2 months and he needs something now

Re: Allergy Medication

DS was on Zyrtec last year, he was probably 14/15 months when he started it, 1/2 a tsp. I'm about to try it with him again soon, he's getting the itchy eyes and tickly throat that keeps him coughing at night again.

Thank you, I think I will head to Target tomorrow and see what I can find. I feel sorry for my poor little guy. He was having so much fun today but I felt horrible cause he was looking pretty bad. I hate allergy season

We used Singluair with my oldest from 15months-2.5 years and then switched over to Claritin. Singluair is prescription. Claritin is OTC but I don't know if there is OTC dosing for under 2 year olds.

I can't remeber the last time I bought a name brand. I remember once I asked a female pharmicist what yeast infection cream to get and she told me the store brand. I figured if she was gonna use a store brand for that then the store brand's are just as good as the name brand

We are using zyrtec for 10.5 month old DD. She is 13.8 lbs, doc said 2.5ml...it is a prescription yucky smelling liquid. Can't really tell a change yet but it has only been 3 days.
