I'm so frustrated and know that in the long run this is the best for allison.

She has lost almost one pound and the pedi won't discharge her until she is maintaining or gainnig weight. She's jaundiced and isn't pottying enough.

My dr came in about an hour ago and said he would discharge me today. Our hospital has a b&b program so I can stay for one more night without being a patient.

I was so thrilled to have a full term baby that was cute and tiny but now realize that even tiny full term babies have their own issues.

ETA: when the nurse discharged me, she said that even though the hospital policy is only one day for b&b, they allow moms of newborns to stay as long as the baby has to.

I am so sorry! I hope her stay is super short. At least you can stay one more day and be with her. Were they able to give you a guess on how long she has to stay? I bet once your milk comes in she'll gain asap.

So sorry - hope she starts to gain it back quick! My first DD was like that, she ended up staying 3 extra days (more for jaundice than weight issues). My hospital was very kind and let me stay the whole time even though I was discharged and not a patient anymore.
Hope she gets to go home soon!
