Infant Tylenol Dosage Question

Anyone know the correct dosage of infant tylenol for a 20 lb baby?

Mr dr. is out sick and I can't reach her, the health department is not answering (they could be closed b/c of the severe weather!), the only ped in town won't tell me b/c we dropped their practice!

DS is running a 100.5 fever and is fussy and miserable. I think the dosage is 1.5 droppers/1.25 mL/120 mg but I can't find the chart the dr. gave me I know he took 1 dropper when smaller so I gave him at least that for now.

Hope he feels better soon. We only did .8 as it worked for my son and I preferred the less is more but it also depends on the child with the dosage.

Oops I've been doing .8 and DD weighs like 23 lbs.

I did the 1.25 and it took the edge off. He has slept most of the day and currently is sleeping on my (numb) leg and preventing me from eating/cooking supper. Hopefully his dr. will be better tomorrow and be back at work or at least refer me somewhere else.

That's okay. Think of you only taking one tylenol instead of two when you have a headache. If dd has a fever under 101 I don't give her tylenol unless she's miserable and cranky. If I do give her some with a fever under 101 and cranky (or between 101 and 102) I give her a half dose. I only full dose if she has a fever if she has a fever over 102.

I'm a bit confused. Isn't the dosage listed on the bottle or are you trying to get more specific than the general weight ranges listed?

On the bottle it does not list dosages for under 2/24 lbs. It says, "Call a doctor."

We went to the dr. today and he has a double ear infection, again.


I usually don't give tylenol until 101 either, but he was so miserable. A fever is a good thing as long as it is tolerable.

He alternated between crying and sleeping for 24 hours even after a full does. Fortunately the dr. was in and saw us 1st thing in the morning. Unfortunately someone stole our checking account and wiped us out so I didn't have any way to buy the antibiotic today when I was out But I had cash at home and am going back to pick it up now for him

Ah, I see.

So sorry your little guy has a double EI. DD had chronic EI's when she was an infant. Those days were rough.
