Re: Cost of Homebirth?

I had a visit with anther midwife today and she takes insurance!!! I had neveer heard of a homebirth midwife being an in network provider before and just assumed it doesn't happen. I am thrilled! We are only responsible for our deductible which is approximately the same as we have paid for our hospital births.

Re: Cost of Homebirth?

My homebirth cost $2,600 all out of pocket and that included everything but the birth tub (which was $100 more.)

Re: Cost of Homebirth?

My homebirth in the Fargo ND area cost $3000 and did not include birth tub or any lab work. However, mine had lots of experience, the cord was wrapped around the baby and she was so professional and quick when delivering so I wouldnt do it differently. The cost did include all visits during pregnancy and 6 post.

Re: Cost of Homebirth?

Local midwife ranges from $2200-3500 (gives discount for those on medicaid).

Re: Cost of Homebirth?

I'm in AZ. Mine was 1700 + supplies (which cost about 100). Blood work included, u/s are not. I have heard around my area of prices between 1600-3000 (depending of it's at the hospital, home birth, water etc).

Ours was $3000, including a heated tub (aqua doula), birth kit and placenta encapsulation! I'm in Minneapolis, MN, for reference.

Who was your midwife if you don't mind sharing?

Re: Cost of Homebirth?

I'm in Texas and mine cost $2800. It would have been around $3200 but since my MW delivered my oldest DS (Freestanding birth center birth) she billed us as repeat customers. The price covered everything (prenatal, birth and post-partum). She takes insurance as well.
