Re: Discouraged...what if lo is allergic to pul, seudecloth and being wet?

I just remembered we had cloth swim diapers upstairs that we used a few times last summer with no issues. It turns out they are Bummis. The website says polyester mesh inner, coated nylon sandwiched and cotton outer....

Yes, fitteds need covers. It might be worth asking if she could custom make some fleece/microfleece pockets. I know she said she has done pocket customs before.

There are billions of options out there, even with special diapering needs. So many combos and fabrics, I am sure you can find something that will work out for your LO's bum Just try not to splurge until you know you found something that works (I have learned my lesson, with that one, LOL).

Ok now that I have thought about it more I highly recommend trying a Nikky cover. They are cotton. You can trifold a flat or prefold in a fleece "sleeve". Easy peasy. Weehuggers has some and we use them for nights. If you sew they would be SUPER easy to make.

Poor mama I know that there is a good solution for you!

If I were you, I would look into some stay dry fitteds - I think that Thirsties is.. I know Motherease has some stay dry doublers you can use.. There are so many options out there! But, you can always just lay fleece stay dry liners in the fitteds. Now for covers.. you can use.. Wool... in longies, shorts, soakers.. which act as clothing.. there are also wool covers like baby beehinds that can go under clothes.. there are other ones like that too.. Loveybums...
Or you can use maybe Nikky covers.. they have a cotton cover that gets great reviews!

I forgot to look up nikky covers! I can sew straight stitches. I would basically just need to make a pillow case sort of right? I'm really confused on what kind of fleece I need though. I picked up remnants and it all repelled or was completely soaked when I put them in a diaper.

Thanks Bethany! I'm in Ohio too btw. You are like the 3rd or 4th rec for nikky covers, so I definitely should look them up.

Can kids with pul allergies use hidden pul or that would still cause rashes?
