No the black bubble is the sac. There most likely wont be any visualization of a placenta at 6 weeks. Just the yoke sac should be seen and a small baby blob.

It is even hard to see the placenta at 9 weeks. Usually best seen around 10-12 when it takes over function from the yoke sac.

When you do see it, it looks like a big fleshy piece on u/s attached to the uterus inside the sac.

So if one was to guessit would have to be on the side of the baby correct? Bc that's where it would be attached to.

Re: How can you tell where placenta is on 6 wk us?

From ones I've seen that early(ingender on whatever they call the OWT gender guesses forum etc) it's usually where you will see the most white show up on the us. So if it looks like more white showing on the lower left curve etc.

Personally I find it really really hard to figure out and cannot even figure it out for sure on my own 8 week one. However, one of the ladies there is very good and even puts up little pics over your us to show you.

Oh and even at 8 weeks it's not always where the baby is as the baby is "floating" at that point attached to cord, so might look like baby is attached to top, but really is at bottom as you may not see the cord etc. I guess unless the tech can clearly see?

Oh, the white would be the blood flow btw, forming the placenta. So where the most blood flow would be showing up.

Try posting to the ingender website. They are amazing at figuring it out. I was pretty confused looking at mine, but I just asked my doctor which side it was on.
