How can I tell which.... **ADDED PICS**

it is?? I am going to list some yarn on Spots and I believe the base is Gaia, but how can I tell if it is worsted or bulky? It is FR "Emily" if that helps... I this colorway, but I am thinking the base is not too practical for a crawler (and I have been saving it because I love it so much, not knowing that the base is not so great past the baby stage )

If you love it have a hat made! It would make beautiful hat and if it is a toddler size (depending on the hat you have made) it could last her through 2 or maybe even 3 winters. Just a thought

Ummm, not necessarily true! My absolute favorite pair of longies for my almost 23 months is made of bulky gaia. I am the 3rd owner of this pair of longies that I purchased of FSOT, so 3 toddlers have worn these. Kristi (TFK) made them for her son and she did tell me that bulky gaia pills a bit at first, but after a while it doesn't pill so much. I'd asked her about it because quite honestly I have *NEVER* ever needed to shave this pair of longies...they truly don't pill.
So maybe it's not great for a crawler but when she gets past the crawling stage you may like it. This pair of bulky gaia longies not only never pills, but it's also the squishiest yarn ever. it's my absolute favorite. I seriously want an entire stash of bulky gaia longies for next winter...lol.

Or like pp says, have a hat made. You can't go wrong with a hat!

Is bulky any more sturdy than worsted???? i guess my issue that I don't want to pay to have something beautiful knit, only to have it ruined...kwim??
