Yeppers! Has she had the kiddo's rash looked at by a doctor? The 2 rashes we can't get rid of by changing wash routines alone are yeast and eczema. The yeast needs a bunch of vinegar in the wash and cream, the eczema needs Weleda Calendula Baby.

Re: For those who fsot.....

maybe I'm crazy, but I wash my *new* diapers too, even if they don't need prepping. So, yeah, if I buy anything off of FSOT, I wash. (I wash DD's new clothes before she wears them too... The one time I didn't, because it was a winter hat that she needed, she got a rash. And, she's not particularly sensitive-skinned...)

I always have to wash that "new clothes" smell out of clothes before I can wear them, and the idea of not washing used diapers before putting them on my baby frankly gives me the heebie jeebies..

Just since this POV hasn't been represented, I'll admit it - I don't always wash first! This applies to dipes I bought off rediaper, and they seem really nice and clean. I've been so anxious to try a few of them out that I've just put them right on LO out of the mail. {blush}

Yes -- I always run them through the sanitize cycle with extra Tide and rinse really well. I used to just throw them in with the rest of the diaper laundry, but after DD got a terrible ammonia burn from an FSOT dipe one time, I don't dare to do anything less than a really thorough cleaning now.

I think sites like that put dipes they receive through a pretty thorough cleaning before listing them.

Re: For those who fsot.....

I dont strip unless I eaither know they use certain brands of detergent that I know weve had issues with or I can smell a strong perfume but I do wash before use.
