Need help with name spelling!

I want to start personalizing some things, but DH and I can't decide on a spelling. We are not ones to make things "unique" or "different" really, but we have seen all three of these multiple times. So which would you pick? (oh, and if you know how to add a poll on an iPad LMK...I can't find a link for it). Thanks for your input ladies!

1. Kaitlyn
2. Katelyn
3. Katelynn

Re: Need help with name spelling!

I would stick to somewhat traditional spelling- just because its frustrating whenever you have to tell someone on the phone a million times that there is an extra N or the name starts with a K not a C- it can get frustrating (seriously, I named Kasey with a K instead of a C and it gets frustrating- even though usually K is for girls, C is for boy names).

But which it more traditional? They all seem to be about equal on the popularity lists...and we want a "K" spelling for sure.

Re: Need help with name spelling!

When I hear the name, I think of the Katelyn spelling. I think it's one of those names though that will always have to be spelled because there ae so many common spellings.

This is a name that CAN be spelled many different ways without it being too strange. We have a Catherine, but looking back in books historically it's spelled BOTH with a K and C.. then you have your Kathryns, which isn't terribly strange. personally, i've always seen it Caitlin, and DH thought that was SO WEIRD.

between the 3, Katelyn (or Katelynn) might be the "easiest" to spell and pronounce for other people. plus it's easier to nickname her Kate, you don't have to create a new spelling for her nickname (if you like that nickname). i think i'd lean towards one of those two. hoooooooooooowever, people might mistake it for Katie-Lyn-- i have heard of that.

My personal opinion is in this order, however they are all pretty popular.
1. Katelyn
2. Kaitlyn
3. Katelynn

I like Kaitlyn...but I think it depends if you plan on nicknaming her Kate or think she may want to in the future...

Ha ha. That's how my little sister's name is spelled. I think my mom said it's the irish spelling or something. I would go with #2 personally, but like someone said, they all look pretty normal to me.
