Re: Need help with name spelling!
this was our fav name for dd#2 but then a friend used the name a couple of months before us so we changed it. We were going to use Katelyn, b/c I also wanted to be able to shorten it to Kate or Katie, and figured that spelling was most condusive to that.

Re: Need help with name spelling!
Katelyn. It is how I wanted to spell dd's name. DH won with Caitlyn. =)

Re: Need help with name spelling!
Personally, I like the third option "Katelynn" but I like the way the NN looks. My daughter is Adrianna, which is traditionally with 1 N but I opted for 2 because I liked the way it looked.

Re: Need help with name spelling!
While I think the name is most traditionally spelled with a C, if you want it to begin with K I think that "Kaitlyn" is the most traditional spelling.
The spelling I'm most familiar with is Caitlin, so I guess I'm just choosing the one that is closest to that.

Re: Need help with name spelling!
I vote for either of the first two. My favorite would be Katelyn. In my DS's school (K4-8th grade) there is:
2 Katelyn, 1 Caitlin, 1 Kaitlin, 2 Kaitlyn, and 1 Katelin.

Re: Need help with name spelling!
Agreed, on the basis of the shortening the name. Kate is a lot more common than Kait. So if she ever wanted to shorten Katelyn would be way easier, and I think is the spelling I have seen more often.

Thanks for all the input ladies! I think we have agreed on Katelyn.

Funny, my daughter's name is Caitlyn and we never wondered how we'd spell it. That's got to be tricky to decide! I may be partial, but I like Kaitlyn (had I not done a c like my name to make it so hubs and my son were "L" and my daughter and I are "c", I would have spelled it with a K). I'm not sure if Caitlyn with a K has the sane meaning, but with a C, it means "pure". Maybe the meanings will
