Re: Market for my portraits?

Ok Ladies.

I have posted a step by step process to my paintings in my WAHM Market thread.

http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/....php?t=1201530

Does that help?

Wow! The first photo you did of the woman, in black & white- stunning! I need some PP so I can commission you.

Re: Market for my portraits?

I really love this idea, and your prices seem really reasonable for a custom piece of artwork! I agree with the others...I think if people really know what you do they'd understand and love it too. As far as art shows...could you have some ready-made portraits and paintings for sale/display as an example of what you do and take orders? Seems like people tend to appreciate that personal connection...

Re: Market for my portraits?

NAK- Love the idea, wanted to make some suggestions:

instead of "portraits" could you call them "digital portraits"? That might clear up confusion.

Could you label the before/after photos on etsy- I had no idea that's what they were until I had studied the listings for a while. Especially the collage-looking one with before/afters of a few pics... i had no idea what was going on with that.

Maybe a quick summary in the listing- Send me your photo, I'll scan it, crop out the background, and digitally paint you the beautiful scene of your choice! (see example in photo 2)

that way people will get a fast idea of what you're doing? I thought you were just selling art. took me a while to even figure out that it was a listing for a custom pic of MY kid!

It's such a cool idea and a unique medium to work with, I think you have lots of 'Splainin" to do!!
good luck!

Re: Market for my portraits?

I have to save up to get one and get a "perfect" picture of the kids and I am going to order one eventually. Your work is stunning!
